HTML-Kit is an HTML editor that allows you to connect to your web server through FTP and edit your web pages in place! This means that you don’t have to download your web pages, update them on your PC and then re-upload them to your site.

You can make a change in HTML-Kit, save it, and immediately see the change on your site.

The tool also has HTML code highlighting and direct support for PHP programming (through free plug-ins) for those of us who are more technically oriented.
